Freeebbiiees

My favourite past time? Going into Motel on park street and rooting under the clothes racks... why? because it's the greatest stock of Bristol finest free publications as I've ever found around the land. lol.

Here is a random selection of photos I've taken of said publications.... and havent posted. so hey. enjoy.

sometimes i wish i lived in the pond with the goldfish...

does that advert not look so beautiful. I'm pretty sure thats charlotte gainsbourg but I could be completley wrong.
It made me think of the worders of underwear and lovely lace and silky stuff and how much I really wish i had the money to go and live in paris and float around drinking coffee in stripy t-shirts and lace headpieces and little vintage broaches and a gorgeous sqiushy leather bag and little ballet flats.

coco before chanel is actually my favourite film ever, mainley because audrey tautou is just so fabby at acting, but also because it's full of the most gorgeous clothes in history. The scene when all the posh society ladies are flouncing around in their floofy dresses and she's just so elegant in her black lace gown is one of the most beautiful scenes in a film ever. I'm so glad I learn French as school because in my head it puts me that little bit closer to cutting my hair into a bob and dying it a rich brown and moving to paris and turning into an effortlessly chic french lady.

though maybe I can start with a trench coat.

Is it just me, or does anyone else not feel... old enough for some clothes. I've wanted a lovely beige trench for years, but I've not felt like it'll suit me yet, I felt the same about blazers for a while.

Well I really want one now, but even if I owned one it's too annoyingly cold to wear it. I'd freeze.

I was going to find some more pictures... but my internet's slowed right down and refuses to find anything. so that might have to be it for this post...

Blooming marveilleuse

Yeah... I'm really not sure about them, (not quite as brave as some) but I'm weirdly loving ye olde bloomers, only thing is I know that if I wear them I'll 1. get laughed at like a talking duck, and 2. look like i'm wearing pyjamas....

or like a victorian...

but not ever as cute as tavi in that pop shoot. oh the anger.

sorry, that was a really messy post. I'm tired.

"hang a pearl on every cowslips ear"

My discovery of the day (thankyou Vogue March... you know I love you), is the lovely designer Maia Norman, and her beautfiul spring summer collection. Does the dress not just wow your socks off. The patterns are amazing and make me want to go to a rainforest and take pictures of pretty birds.

I saw this dress in Vogue I think, well the catwalk picture was beautiful enough but this took my breath away.
It's just so beautiful.

Collage to the extreme!

okay not really to the extreme. But this is some lovely arty stuff by Alexis Anne Mackensie that I found somewhere but I don't remember where because my head's full of the mega song I'm listening to by The Heavy. It's epic. :)

But anyway, these are such cute little collage things with flowers and all sorts of lovely things that are sooo much snazzier than the collages I used to make age 5 that was basically pictures of coke cans, bicycles and dolphins stuck together in a eton mess of glue and paper...

Have a look...

Daisy Daisy...

Omgosh. It's like something straight from a Tim Walker shoot.
Oh how I wish I was daughter of the legendary Pearl Lowe and had parties like fairy tales. Instead I have to be satisfied with the occasional halloween party or the comfort of my bedroom if I fancy a dress-up.
Warning: these wonderful photos that are off Vogue.co.uk may make you feel epicly jealous. :D

Gorgeous Much? In fact I might just have to run and delve into my Tim Walker book (it is quite possibly my most treasured possession and if you have never heard of Tim Walker and his fabulousness then feel ashamed, and then look him up and join the fan club)

GOLD gold. Always believe in your soul....

Are words required? I don't think so. Except.
I now officially love Kanye West. I don't care what his music is like. Check out this baby ;)

And now a reasonably relevant blast from the past...
Sorry I don't know how to put a video on a post so it's just a link... wait. I'm sure I've put a video in a post before... ah well I can't remember right now.

I'M BACKKK

Okay. that was an epic fail of a couple of months blogwise and general wise. Not that you really want to know but I had to stress my brains out over English and Maths exams which are even less fun than riding a bicycle to edinburgh whilst reciting all of the gazillion words in the dictionary (and their latin translations).... although that does sound amusing.
Other than that I've not been up to much, my brain has been so filled with T.S.Eliot and algorithms that I've let my pouring over internet blogs and magazines looking at pictures of lovely clothes slip. But don't worry. I'm making up for it know even if that means that come May I'll be panicing like an elephant in a mouse farm. (clearly today is the day of the simile)

First a nice little video to make you feel a bit jollier and less resentful to my rubbish attempt at a so called blog.

and yes. I have somehow managed to make it that the picture is hyperlinked to the video. Magic? I think so.

But yeah. Check it out. It's kind of a warm-and-fuzzy-inside sort of cuteness. Made me smile anyway.

Hasta la vista

shake your booties.

Went shopping saturday. In the rain, it's horrific, the weather is just ridiculous. I really want it to just snow, or at least stop raining.
On the plus side I got myself a fabby coat... I'm going to change the buttons... I'll show you it once it's all mega nice.
And I bought these mega lovely booties + the the skirt.
They remind me a bit of pirates and stuff, but I'll live with that, and they're pointy, which I never ever go for. But I actually love them. They're my midpoint between ballet flats and doc martens.
And the skirt is all floaty, with what my ever so lovely called a granny print. Which I suppose it a little true. But I actually love grannies, with their knitting and baking and cute little blouses. They sit discussing their grandchildren and wearing twinsets and florals; spend so much money on makeup and get all dressed up to go watch polo (well the upper class ones at least). And don't get me started on the queen. All I'll say is corgis.

My day...

Today I had a rather Jolly day. I got up, pondered my way through some homework, threw a load of rubbish into a bag and hopped on the bus to Bristol, where I met some lovely friendles and sat for ages.
After that we wandered round abit, went to Borders (Where I bought iD, more on that later), went up Brandon Hill, I sat on rocks and bins for some art thing, took sneaky pictures of people for my matey's fo-tag work, went to a couple of great shops (bs8, Motel), looke at cd's in fopp, ran across bristol, bought some oranges and some dolly mixture and hopped on the bus back home. Wonderful...
Here comes a bit of a visual diary. :)

By the way, it says 'Freak' on that note book, I almost bought it. But then I didn't. And the cd's are just ones with pretty covers :)
